Instantly reduce your PC energy consumption!

Power and cooling requirements for idle computers and hard drives are a major operating cost for private and corporate networks. According to a recent study by IDC, data centers spend over $1 billion per year to power and their networks. These costs are expected to skyrocket in the next 4 years as the number of computers and energy cost increases.

Basic Client Settings: Instant Overview over Electricity Savings and Carbon Footprint Reduction

Savings in money and reduction in carbon footprint can be analysed across groups and the whole network.

So at any time, the savings to date are calculated and you can measure your progress in going green.

Basic Client Settings: Monitor Keyboard, Hard drive and CPU and automatically shutdown your PC

Without any configuration Auto Shutdown Manager monitors keyboard, hard drive and CPU. If for a adjustable period of time all activity has been below the adjustable threshold the PC will enter power saving mode. Also on this screen you can monitor the activity in the past that inhibited the PC from entering the the power saving mode.

If the PC is in standby mode it will power up in seconds just like a screen saver, eliminating the needs for long boot wait times.

Basic Client Settings: Synchronize other Workstation or server states across your network

Where you can configure other machines that will power up if your PC is powered up.

This is handy if you have a Domain Server or Media File Server as you don't have to manually turn everything on every time anymore.

You can also configure components in your network that prevent this machine to power down as long as those passive components are online.

Advanced Client Settings: Applications and tasks preventing power down

You can configure applications that are supposed to run unattended. The machine will not power down as long as those tasks are running.

You can configure permanent and temporary application. Temporary applications will be deleted after a power down, permanent applications will always be monitored, such as nightly backup tasks.

Basic Client Settings: Monitor advanced services and triggers

Auto Shutdown Manager allows you to monitor any process state or windows object such as network traffic and cpu cycles for .net and .asp or IP, ICMP, printer queues and so on. For each monitored indicator thresholds can be defined. As long as thresholds are reached the machine will not enter power saving modes.

Basic Client Settings: Scheduled Tasks

Auto Shutdown Manager monitors scheduled tasks such as backup jobs or file synchronization.

Auto Shutdown Manager can be configured to allow time quota per day or week during which the PC may be used. If the Quota is used up, users can not log on. Quota can be replenished based on rules and differ on certain days.
